Historical note: this was the image (sans text, which was our own addition) that led to the prosecution of *The Masses* editorial board for sedition and, really, the death of the magazine itself. Learned Hand's opinion is well worth reading, if one is ever short of reading material or wants to be reminded that the "free" press serves at the pleasure of the mastahs.
